Care and Cleaning
Your Gems4me motion ring is very easy to clean by following a few simple instructions. To keep your ring moving freely, we recommend cleaning on a regular basis. Your ring will not spin as freely once the bearing mechanism becomes dirty. Wearing your ring while dirty can shorten the life of the ball bearings, so cleaning is the key to longevity of your ring.
Cleaning instructions
Soak your Gems4me motion jewelry in a solution of 1 part 'Mr. Clean' (non-ammonia formula) to 1 part water for about 30 minutes. Soaking your ring overnight in this solution is fine if that is more convenient.
After the soaking rinse your ring thoroughly under cool running water. The ring will not spin freely again until completely dry. you can use a blow dryer to speed up the drying.
IMPORTANT
DO NOT USE AMMONIA, JEWELRY CLEANER CONTAINING AMMONIA, BLEACH, OR ANY OTHER SUBSTANCE THAT CONTAINS AMMONIA OR BLEACH TO CLEAN YOUR Gems4me MOTION ring.
We use only precision stainless steel ball bearings, but if you use ammonia, jewelry cleaner containing ammonia, or bleach it can damage the ball bearings and the ring will not spin properly.
Recommendations
To keep your ring spinning freely, we recommend that you avoid contact with the following:
Sticky hair care products
Glue
Hand Lotion
Hand Soap and dish washing liquid soap(we recommend removing your ring while washing hands)
Hair care products like spray or mousse, hand lotion, and soap can get caught up inside the bearing mechanism causing it to gum up if allowed to dry around the bearing. This will slow down or even freeze the movement of your ring.
Avoid wearing clothing that sheds a lot or create a lot of lint. Those loose particles can get inside th moving parts and could eventually slow the motion down.
Please do not try and oil the ring to make it move better, it will have the opposite effect.
Repairs
Repairs and service, other than routine cleaning, should be carried out at our Gems4me facility in order to maintain the integrity of your ring . We are experts in motion rings, we design them ,make them and ever so often repair them. We also do repair work on any other make or brand of motion ring.
